Zhu Rong and Meng Huo in town (Chronicle Mode) Thankfully we are back to the charge-based attacks from DW2-DW5. Achieving enough skill points for a weapon allows you to unlock special skills / moves with the weapons.
The character then becomes more familiar with them (though each character has certain weapons they are naturally good with and bad with).
Weapon skill levels are increased as you use them more often in Dynasty Warriors 7. Also weapons can be forged in certain game modes, by blacksmiths in town. Each character can bring in two weapons to battle though has natural gifts with certain weapons (and some weapons are gender / character exclusive, like the Flute for example). Having a long combo on an officer raises the chance of the weapon dropped being good. They sometimes appear and we can equip them upon receiving them in battle. We find new weapons just like we do other rewards from defeated officers. Zhu Rong in town buying blacksmith's weapons No matter what weapon you have equipped on your character, they will use their base weapon in the musou. Each character has two different types of musous, and can eventually use two musous at once if the bar is long enough. A couple things to keep in mind when increasing your Musou. Action is related to our moveset with deed points we can unlock different attacks / abilities to use in battle. You can then use these to increase your Special + Action. Defeating officers and other high ranking enemies increases your Deed Points.
Special / Musou bar and ‘Action’ can be augmented by different means. HP we find in boxes I believe, also like previous Dynasty Warriors games. One very important thing to keep in mind is that these swords + shields can be upgraded if you defeat the enemy with high combos (think Dynasty Warriors 3, where you can better the sword / shield if you got 8 combo / 16 combo / 32 combo). DW veterans know that means attack up or defense up. How do we upgrade each of these then? Defeating some generals may net us a sword or a shield. From our understanding, starting from the top / upper right one Attack, HP / Vitality, Special / Musou bar, Action and Defense in the northwest corner. Here we see Sima Shi of the Jin Kingdom. Leveling up in Dynasty Warriors 7 is a little different, though many concepts have been used in previous games.
